FORMER FRENCH SPACE AGENCY CHIEF RENE PELLAT APPOINTED PRESIDENT, SKY STATION FRANCE

Washington, D.C., March 10, 1997: Sky Station International announced today that the recently retired head of France’s space program, René Pellat, has joined the broadband stratospheric transmission company’s senior executive staff. Dr. Pellat will be responsible for system implementation in France and will also serve as a senior advisor on propulsion systems development.

"We are honored to have Dr. Pellat onboard as head of Sky Station France," said Gen. Alexander M. Haig, Co-Founder and Chairman of Sky Station’s International Advisory Board. "His scientific and management skills will be of immense value to us as we equip the world for the telecommunications challenges of the next century."

The Sky Station system is a worldwide broadband Internet transmission system that uses stratospheric platforms instead of satellite relays. Consumers and businesses will be able to access the Internet at multimegabit per second channel speeds via business card size antennas affixed to their homes and offices. Widespread commercial operations of the system will commence in the year 2000.
