SKYCACHE INC. NAMES FORMER LOTUS SVP AND CTO JOHN LANDRY TO ITS BOARD OF
DIRECTORS
Laurel, MD (September 8, 1998) - SkyCache Inc., the nation's
premier high-speed datacasting company revolutionizing the Internet, today announced the
addition of prominent industry executive John Landry to its Board of Directors. Mr. Landry
has served as the senior technology executive at several major software companies in a
career that started at the inception of the software industry. "We are delighted that
John has accepted our invitation to join SkyCache's Board of Directors," said Doug
Humphrey, president and chief executive officer. "John has more than 25 years
experience innovating and developing world-class software and software companies, and will
offer invaluable insight to SkyCache."
Mr. Landry is best known for his position as Senior Vice President and Chief
Technology Officer at Lotus Development from 1990 to Lotus' acquisition by IBM in 1995.
Mr. Landry is credited with initiating, leading and evangelizing Lotus' original Internet
efforts, including the revolutionary Domino product line. Preceding Lotus, Mr. Landry was
the top technology executive at Dun & Bradstreet Software, Cullinet Software,
Distribution Management Systems and McCormack & Dodge Corporation, as well as starting
and selling two successful start-ups. Presently, Mr. Landry serves as Strategic
Technologist to IBM's executive management, focused on IBM's Network Computing and
Internet strategy. Mr. Landry headed up the IBM-wide Internet Strategy Project, chartered
by CEO Lou Gerstner in 1995 to set the agenda for IBM's Internet activities across the
corporation. Mr. Landry has spent the last three years assisting IBM in executing and that
plan, now an integral component of IBM's e-Business strategy.
In addition to SkyCache, Mr. Landry is Chairman of the Board of Narrative
Communications, a company providing end-to-end solutions for intensely animated, fully
interactive, and uniquely measurable Web advertising and direct marketing. He also serves
on the Board of Directors of several high-flying, high-tech companies, including PFN Inc.,
MCK Communications, FlexiInternational, Inc., and Content Advisor Inc. He also serves on
the Board of Advisors of GIGA Information Group and Lante Corporation. Active in industry
professional associations, Landry is a long time trustee of the Massachusetts Software
Council, and is past president of the Information Technology Association (ITAA) and the
American Software Association (ASA). And finally, Mr. Landry is a Trustee and instructor
at his alma mater, Babson College where he obtained his bachelor's degree in finance.
