EST CONTACT: SKYCACHE SIGNS FIFTIETH CUSTOMER IN NORTH AMERICA Laurel, MD, February 8, 1999: SkyCache, Inc., , the world's premier satellite broadcast overlay network for the Internet, today announced the signing of its fiftieth customer in North America, PennCom Internet of Warren, Pennsylvania. "ISPs continue to embrace the value of SkyCache Release 1.0 service," stated Doug Humphrey, President/CEO of SkyCache. "We have a fully operational satellite broadcast overlay network for the Internet in Europe and North America that is delivering cache turbocharging and a full Usenet News feed." Other SkyCache customers include Erols Internet, ExecPC, and SuperLink. Erols Internet, an RCN company, has signed a multidish contract. "Our steady growth in customers both in Europe and North America is a testimony to the value of the SkyCache offering and the effectiveness of our installation team and 24 by 7 Network Operations Center," said Bob Marggraf, Chief Operating Officer. SkyCache Release 1.0 service provides cache turbocharging and a full Usenet News feed via satellite broadcast, enabling ISPs and corporations to leverage existing bandwidth and in many cases substantially improve web page response time. Service is delivered via GE Americom's GE-3 in North America and GE-1E (Sirius II) over Europe. Future releases of the SkyCache service will support data replication and streaming media distribution.
